Since our last post we’ve made new friends, managed to stay in a campsite without paying and eaten our weight in calamari. After leaving Split we returned to our old camping spot above the beach bar on Vis, and made friends with a couple from the Czech Republic; we had a good seafood dinner out with them at Zadruga, a restaurant overlooking the harbour, as well as going to the outdoor cinema and trying all the amazing ice-cream flavours! We also met two English girls, and the six of us left for Split together after a couple of weeks, sleeping in the park before our early morning Catamaran and waking, very sleep-deprived, to the sunrise. After saying our goodbyes the two of us headed off to Tisno, a small town an hour up the coast, for our music festival. Here we trekked for hours in the sun and found a wild camping spot on a rocky beach, and pitched up for a few days of thunderstorms and standing on urchins, before leaving to another campsite we’d booked for the festival (we managed to choose our pitch then not return to reception to pay, another free camping victory).
We dined on calamari and cappuccinos at the restaurant, and spent the rest of the time trying to avoid the sun and stand under the cold showers. After a few nights of Soundwave, which mainly consisted of watching people dance and drinking very expensive ciders, we booked a night in an amazing apartment in Zadar, on route to the festival- with an actual bed. So tonight we’ll sleep like babies in our beautiful little room, having watched movies on the home entertainment and finally found some cheddar cheese. Tomorrow we leave for Lost Theory, and will hopefully spend the last week of our travels dancing, finding new people and covering ourselves in glitter and body paint.
