We’ve had some more days exploring here in France. There was a festival weekend in Nimes which we went to for a day, and watched the bull-running, ate churros and wandered round the old gardens. We also visited Sommieres, a small town nearby, and climbed to the castle at the top. We went there again today for the market and smelt the cheeses and cooked meats, before having a drink in the shade at a pizza restaurant.
Alison and Mike took us to an old quarry a few days ago; it was very Lara Croft-y and we managed to do lots of climbing, and found faces carved in the rock. Yesterday was a hot beach day, and we did lots of paddling and shell-collecting, followed by ice-cream at Aigues-Mortes.
It’s been heating up a lot, so we went for a swim this afternoon, and are now sitting under the parasol, listening to the birds.
